Q1 When I used the speaker phone, there is feedback from the other person.

A1 Check the loudness of the speaker as this could cause feedback.

Q2 Is it possible to create long audio recordings with my Xda II, since it only has 32MB memory?

A2 Yes, you can also save the recording onto an inserted SD memory card. With it, you can record until the SD card is full. With 128 MB SD cards and a corresponding recording adjustment (i.e. 11kHz, 16 Bit, Mono) you can accommodate approximately 90 minutes of recording time. Adjust the storage location for the recordings under START > Notes > Tools > Options 'Save to' with the entry: 'Storage card (if available)'.

Q3 Is it possible to activate the loudspeaker on my xda before choosing a telephone number? Is it possible to permanently turn the loudspeaker on loud, so I do not have to press the green button?

A3 Dial a number. Disconnect and tap onto the signal symbol in the title bar. Tap onto the disconnect telephone button and then immediately press the green button (accept telephone call) keeping it pressed until the note appears: The loudspeaker is activated.

The telephone then disconnects without establishing a connection. The information that the loudspeaker is activated remains.

Turn on the telephone. The loudspeaker is turned on instantly with each dialled number.

Q4 Is it possible to record telephone calls with my Xda II?

A4 The PocketPC allows you to record with the built-in microphone. The quality of the recording may be defined in the menu: Start - Settings - Input. The built-in microphone can only record in mono quality. If you start the recorder before a dial-up it turns off again. You must first dial the desired counterpart and then start the recorder. It does not only record with the microphone, but also the tone of the counterpart is recorded. Please note: In the UK it is against the law to record a telephone call without informing the other person they are being recorded.

Q5 What does it mean to have a white triangle sign appearing on and off and sometimes it appears only a split of a second?

A5 The white triangle means that you are using a roaming network.

Q6 How do I turn off the phone function and go into PDA mode?

A6 Tap the antenna icon next to the speaker symbol on the top of the screen and select 'Turn phone off'.

Q7 How do I use conference call feature in the Xda II?

A7 Using O2 Group Conferencing, you can have a conversation with up to 19 other people.
